This David Gilmour poster catches the Pink Floyd guitarist in 1977, head down and long hair falling forward as he works a lap steel guitar under a single pool of stage light. Photo taken by talented photographer but first and foremost huge fan, Klaus Hiltscher. It's black and white and a little grainy, set on a soft cream border with the year and his name in clean serif type.

Gilmour joined Pink Floyd in the late 1960s and became the voice and guitar behind so much of their best-loved music, from The Dark Side of the Moon to Wish You Were Here. His playing is all about feel: long, singing notes and solos people still hum decades later. 1977 was the year of Animals, and the pig on his T-shirt looks like a knowing nod to that record.
