This David Gilmour poster puts the Pink Floyd guitarist exactly where he belongs: alone in a column of amber stage light, head down over his guitar at the mic, with everything else sunk into deep violet shadow. A clean cream border carries just the year and the name, 1977 and David Gilmour.

Gilmour is the voice and guitar behind so much of Pink Floyd's sound, a player famous for making every note count, with solos like Comfortably Numb that fans still know by heart. 1977 was the year Pink Floyd released Animals, so this is Gilmour in the middle of the band's big, brooding late-seventies era.

The photograph was taken by Klaus Hiltscher, a talented photographer and a fan, and it shows. It is quiet and close, more about mood than spectacle.

Choose it as a poster or a framed print. It looks right in a living room, a record corner or a home studio, and makes a cool gift for anyone who grew up on The Dark Side of the Moon or found it later on vinyl.
